About

L'Hotel was originally part of the place of La Reine Margot before being transformed into a Pavilion d'Amour (a pavilion of love) in the early 19th century.

Oscar Wilde took up residence at the end of the 19th century and lived at L'Hotel until his death, famously claiming to 'live above his means'.

L'Hotel soon became the place to be seen in Paris, with every famous visitor to the city passing through it's doors, from Salvador Dali and Princess Grace to Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

L'Hotel's iconic status as the leading hotel on the Left Bank was confirmed following a stunning overhaul by legendary designer Jacques Garcia, which won many accolades and awards.  There is a pool set into the vaults for guests to enjoy in privacy, the lavishly appointed, Michelin star Restaurant, the chic bar and outstanding service.

L'Hotel is one of Paris's best loved institutions, and has become famous around the globe for it's discreet and glamorous charm.  L'Hotel regularly features in the leading travel, fashion and design publications.  It is one of Tatler's 101 top hotels in the World 2008, and was named Winner of the Best Urban Hotel in the World 2008 by Harper's Bazaar.

L'Hotel is owned by A Curious Group of Hotels, a British company of chic hotels for the culturally curious, which also owns Cowley Manor in the English countryside and the soon to open Canal House in Amsterdam.
